¡Hola! Discover the fun and value of learning Spanish in this welcoming, beginner-friendly Affinity Class! Speaking another language can open doors to new friendships, greater confidence, cultural connections, travel experiences, and even future career opportunities.
Led by an instructor who grew up speaking Spanish in a Colombian-American family before learning English for school, this course brings a personal and practical approach to learning the language. Participants will be introduced to common greetings, everyday words and phrases, casual conversation, asking and answering simple questions, and useful Spanish for real-life situations.
No previous Spanish experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and willingness to participate! Come learn, practice, have fun, and begin developing a skill that can stay with you for a lifetime.

Kevin Velez
Kevin Velez is a graduate of LIU Post with a degree in Digital Game Design and a lifelong passion for video games and interactive storytelling. From a young age, he was fascinated not only by playing games, but by the history, creativity, and innovation behind the industry that has shaped entertainment for generations. During his time at LIU Post, Kevin designed and developed countless original games, gaining hands-on experience in game mechanics, storytelling, design theory, and digital production. His work allowed him to turn his passion into a creative skillset, while deepening his appreciation for the evolution of gaming culture and technology. Kevin is excited to bring his enthusiasm, creativity, and knowledge to the classroom, where he hopes to inspire students to explore the world of gaming in new and exciting ways.
